If you are looking for a self-storage general contractor who treats your project like his own, we had unreal luck with Tyler Scherer at CCSB. We recently hired Tyler for a major expansion at Storage Center Plus in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. This was a high-spec build—institutional-grade project, all tech, high ceilings, humidity control, polished floors, the whole 9. It had to be perfect inside and out. The 1st phase of this property was with the biggest group in the country - it was a hair-pulling nightmare for us. It was, 'we're never building again-level'. Mid-project, we hit a significant bump in the road (as construction projects often do) we thought, oh boy, here we go again. Like the last one, most contractors would have TRIED to managed it over the phone. Tyler jumped in the car, 7 hrs later, he was onsite - two different times, he left his family for over almost three full weeks (11 days straight this last time), and lived on-site 3 doors down at the Best Western to babysit the crew - and the job until it was resolved... flawlessly. It was never a fight - or even a question, issues were handled with 'let's just find the proper solution'. You cannot buy that kind of dedication anymore - my family and I were truly impressed. He delivered a state-of-the-art facility that is the talk of the town. If you are developing a storage facility - apparently anywhere in the country, this is the team you want in your corner. 11/10 recommendation. PS - Tyler Scherer turned out to be a champion. He will be doing our next two phases - and the next two property builds.
